The Augustus opened in 2005 with 949 rooms, which were designed for more upscale luxury and service than the other parts of the resort. Entertainment Close-Up wrote that the Julius Tower is the "latest piece of a $1 billion investment to cement Caesars Palace as the premier resort at the center of the Las Vegas Strip".
